Digitized Refrigerator Art Quilt by Sandra Clark Quilt with designs digitized from children's artwork. As the mother of three very creative girls, I often had more art than refrigerator. Just about the time my girls advanced out of the scribbling stage, the sewing machine companies marketed the first embroidery digitizing programs for the home sewer. My passion for machine embroidery was fueled by my girls’ artwork -- and this unique, family quilt was the end result.

Herky Jerky House by Marge Chamberlain Do you need a special housewarming gift? Here’s the project for you -- quick, colorful and charming! The machine embroidered appliqué design is used not only as a quilt block appliqué but also as the quilting motif in the blank blocks. Herky jerky describes the scribble-like stitches that finish each appliqué section. It’s a whimsical touch to simple appliqué designs.

Quilting with Embroidery by Barbara Hartman Quilting a wall hanging with beautiful embroidery. People often ask if I like to quilt. Actually, I don’t like to quilt, but I love to piece. With home embroidery machines, not only can the block be decorated with embroidery, but the quilting can also be part of the machine embroidery. It’s wonderful. This technique allows for all the fun of piecing and embroidery without having to do the quilting. This
project is available for free download.
